Update

I have an editor. Wow. I received the edited version of my book a few days ago. I'm going through it now and fixing a few things my editor has advised. I'm compliant. I am so excited to be experiencing this that I'm in no mood to question suggested edits... especially since I know my editor is correct. Most everything I look at leaves me saying, "Yup. It's better that way than the way I had it."

And a release date has tentatively been set for late next month. NEXT MONTH. Wow. Tell your friends. Oh wait, most of out here won't tell our friends because well, you know. Here's the funny thing about that. I've let a number of friends in real life read my book and they liked it - or so they say. I have received a lot of excited comments and not one - NOT ONE - person has batted an eye about the content. They all act like it's perfectly normal to read and write about these things. Thank you Fifty Shades. Fifty Shades opened these topics up enormously.

So anyhow, this is just a quick update. Things are progressing. I went through PK's publisher. Did I already tell you that? Probably. Anyhow, they are very kind, helpful people who are making the experience run smoothly. Stay tuned. I'm anxiously awaiting a cover! I can't wait to see what that looks like!!

I'm going to go now. I want to finish reading over my edited copy and making the corrections that have been asked for. Mostly I over use ellipses..... who.... me..... nah.... never..... I told my editor about a college professor who wrote on one of my college papers, "Damn, you're good, but do eliminate all those ellipses.... they're maddening....... " I also told my editor that part of my problem is that I like them and don't realize I'm using them. LOL Anyhow, they will be eliminated. And apparently I need to add dialogue tags because apparently it's important for a reader to know who is saying what. Who knew?

I'm kidding of course because I do realize I have a lot to learn and am definitely open to the learning experience because my next book has to be better. It just has to be. If it's not then that means I've learned nothing. Oh, and PK if you're reading (and I know you are) I need a special favor from you so when you get home from your jet setting, let me know when you have a minute!!!

Okay. That's all.

And I'm Off!!

So this is a day I didn't think I'd ever see in my lifetime. I am soon going to be publishing my very first book. I love to write. I've blogged for years. Granted, in recent years my blogging days have been few and far between but now I am starting a whole new blog.

I'm Taylor. Taylor Evans. Last summer I wrote a book and have allowed a few close friends to read it. I put it up on my old blog for a very short time but then took it down because - well - I am quite proud of this work and didn't want anyone to steal it.

Friends have said I should try to publish it but I haven't been all that sure that it would be accepted. I sent it to one - just one - publisher six months ago and never heard back from them.

Do you know PK? Author of the wonderfully delightful Cassie series? She mentioned a time or two that I should submit my one and only lonely little book to her publisher.

So I did..... And they responded. It didn't take long at all. Seriously it was a matter of a few hours. I now have an editor. A publisher. Oh, and a release date. I have a tentative release date.

Pinch me.

I. Am. So. Excited!!! Let the journey begin.
